Description
A research study on how to make a light painting workshop accessible to everyone. I work in the world of recreational therapy and when I design a workshop, which is based on fun, I have to consider several critical aspects, from age to degree of autonomy and sensory differences/neurological conditions. In this case, I am rehearsing for a multi-sensory light painting workshop that is accessible to the 'disabled' (although I believe that the concept of disability should refer more to the environment than to the person). I use music and various tools to draw light, so that the experience is also exciting for people who are blind or have no fine motor skills. I was not alone during these rehearsals, my niece was present with me and half of the shots were taken by her (and I photographed) and the other half by me (and she photographed). My niece is only 3 years old, so she is a perfect participant, if the game works with her age there is a good chance of high inclusiveness. We had a lot of fun and chose 16 photos, 8 mine and 8 hers. Apart from a couple of pieces, it is very difficult to tell who took the pictures, because when the processes are simplified down to the basics, the language is the same for all ages and conditions.
